Terms of Service

These are the rules for using tizy.app, the Tizy app and the Tizy venue desktop app, written in plain language by the team that builds them. Using Tizy means you accept them.

The service

Tizy is a live-audio and events layer over nightlife. Venues stream the sound of their room, listeners hear it in the Tizy app before they go, and around every venue sit its upcoming events, its public facts and its grade in the Tizy Nightlife Index. Listening is free. Tizy may change, pause or stop any feature at any time, and adds or removes cities and venues as the data allows.

Accounts

You do not need an account to read tizy.app or to listen in the app. Signing in uses your Google account, or a verified phone number for venues. You are responsible for what happens under your account and on any device that holds your sign-in token, so keep that device safe. You must be at least 18, and at least 21 where that is the legal drinking age, to use Tizy at all.

Acceptable use

Do not attack, overload or probe Tizy's servers, do not scrape the site at rates that harm it, do not impersonate a venue or another person, and do not rebroadcast a Tizy stream as your own. Reading the Tizy Nightlife Index through its JSON API with attribution is welcome; the index data is published under CC BY 4.0.

Venue streams

A venue that streams on Tizy is the broadcaster. The venue is responsible for the audio it sends, including holding whatever licences its country requires for playing and transmitting recorded or live music, and for anything said or played in its room. Tizy transmits the stream in real time, does not record it, and can stop a stream at any moment, for example on a rights holder's request or when the stream is causing a problem. Tizy does not promise that a stream stays up or that a venue is streaming at any given hour.

Event and venue information

Venue facts come from public Google Maps listings and events are aggregated from public sources, currently Resident Advisor. Both are collected automatically and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong: a venue can close, an event can move, a door price can change. Check with the venue before you travel. Ticket links lead to third-party sellers; Tizy is not the organizer or the seller of any event and takes no part in that transaction.

The Tizy Nightlife Index

A Tizy Score is a computed opinion about a venue, produced from public data by the published rules at tizy.app/rating/methodology. It grades businesses, never people. If you run a venue and believe an input is wrong, email hello@tizy.app with the venue's location id and the disputed input; Tizy re-checks the inputs against the methodology and corrects what is wrong. Grades are not negotiated and cannot be bought.

Intellectual property

The Tizy name, logo, site design and the text Tizy writes belong to Tizy. Venue names, logos and photos belong to their owners and appear on Tizy to identify the venue. The audio in a stream belongs to the venue and to the rights holders of what is played. Event names and flyers belong to their promoters. If something of yours appears on Tizy and should not, email hello@tizy.app with the URL and it will be taken down or corrected.

No warranty

Tizy is provided as it is. Nightlife changes fast, and Tizy cannot promise that a venue is open, that a stream is live, that an event is happening or that a score reflects tonight. Use Tizy as one input to your plans, not the only one.

Limitation of liability

To the extent Israeli law allows, Tizy is not liable for indirect losses, for what happens at a venue or on the way to it, or for the content of a venue's stream or a third party's listing. If Tizy is found liable to you for anything, the total is capped at the amount you paid Tizy in the twelve months before the claim, which today is nothing, because Tizy takes no payments.

Termination

You can stop using Tizy at any time and ask for your account to be deleted at hello@tizy.app. A venue can stop streaming by closing or uninstalling the desktop app. Tizy can suspend or close an account, or stop a stream, when these terms are broken or when a stream or listing creates a legal problem.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and any dispute goes to the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Tizy after a change means you accept the new terms.
