Every guide to Berlin nightlife neighborhoods hands out the same four adjectives. Friedrichshain is techno, Kreuzberg is alternative, Mitte is chic, Schöneberg is elegant. None of them counts anything. So here is a count. Of the 660 upcoming listed events in Berlin that resolve to a postal code, 132 fall inside one zip, 10245, the Warschauer Straße and RAW-Gelände corner of Friedrichshain. That is 20% of the city's nightlife calendar on a few blocks between the S-Bahn and the river. At the other end, Schöneberg's revealed rooms carry the best average Google rating of any district in the city, 4.69, and host 10 listed events between them. The calendar and the ratings point at different neighborhoods. Every figure here is measured 2026-09-18 from tizy-db, the live venue and events database behind Tizy.

The short version, if the U-Bahn is already moving: Friedrichshain for the most doors on one night, Mitte if you want a club and a good bar within a five-minute walk of each other, Kreuzberg for the bars and not the clubs, Schöneberg for the best-rated room in the city and almost nothing on the calendar.

The calendar and the ratings disagree about Berlin

Berlin's events feed lists 666 upcoming, non-cancelled events tied to a venue in the city. Match each venue's address to a postal code, group the zips the way the Berlin nightlife hub already groups them, and this is the shape of the week.

Friedrichshain holds 30.6% of the city's listed events on 14.9% of its rated rooms, twice its weight. Mitte is the only district whose calendar share and room share match. Kreuzberg is a shade over its weight. Schöneberg has 5.5% of the rooms and 1.5% of the events, and its five event-linked venues average 2.0 listings each against 5.24 city-wide. The six events at three venues with no zip in their address are left out of every figure above.

One postal code is a fifth of the city's night

Zip 10245 runs from Warschauer Straße station down Revaler Straße to the Spree. Its 132 listed events across 20 venues are more than the whole of Kreuzberg's zip set (123), thirteen times Schöneberg's, and 84% of Mitte's entire grouping. The next-busiest zip in the city, 10179 on the Mitte side of the river, has 83.

The rooms are the ones the tour groups already know, and the ratings are not kind. Revaler Straße 99, the RAW-Gelände, holds Cassiopeia (4.1 across 2,940 reviews, €10–20), Crack Bellmer (4.2 across 1,467, €10–20, to 6 AM on Saturday), The White Rabbit (4.5 across 531, open to noon on Sunday), Lokschuppen (3.7 across 2,508) and the bar Urban Spree (4.5 across 3,007), plus the Cassiopeia Sommergarten (4.5 across 667, €1–10) in daylight. Under the arches at Warschauer Platz, Matrix holds a 4.0 on 11,789 reviews, the biggest sample of any nightlife room in Berlin, and BUSCHE Club a 4.4 on 246 in the cheapest price band. Down the river, ://about blank rates 3.7 across 1,743 in the €20–30 band and Club OST 3.6 across 1,269. Taken together the zip's 14 rated rooms average 4.17, eight of them clubs, the lowest average of any Berlin zip with more than five rooms. The Reddit thread that outranks every guide for this search is a visitor calling Warschauer Straße "HORRIBLE." That thread is about the one corner of the city with more listed nights than anywhere else, and both things are true.

The rest of Friedrichshain is quieter and better. Zip 10243, the Berghain side of the rail lines, carries 38 events across 8 venues; Berghain | Panorama Bar rates 3.9 across 5,895 and posts 24 hours on Sunday, and Molly Malone's (4.6 across 447) and PlaceOne on Strausberger Platz (4.7 across 232) are the bars. Zip 10247, Boxhagener Platz and the streets north of Frankfurter Allee, holds 32 events at just 2 venues, and its nine rated rooms average 4.61 with no club among them: Bretterbude (4.8 across 395), YSY (4.8 across 279), Panenka (4.7 across 568, to 4 AM on the weekend), Minimal Bar (4.6 across 1,764, to 5 AM Friday and Saturday), booze bar (4.5 across 1,049) and Salamas Bar (4.5 across 246, to 5 AM). Ten minutes' walk from the busiest zip in Berlin, the bar end of the same district rates nearly half a point higher.

Mitte is the only district that wins on both counts

Mitte's 158 events across 26 venues are the second-largest calendar in the city, and its 45 rated nightlife rooms average 4.51, with only two under 4.0. Its eight clubs average 4.23, the best club average of the three big districts. The two zips around Jannowitzbrücke carry 140 of those events between 19 venues, which on their own is more than Kreuzberg's whole set.

Zip 10179 is the Köpenicker Straße strip: 83 events, 12 venues. Tresor (3.7 across 4,930, €20–30, to noon on Saturday and Sunday), KitKatClub (4.0 across 3,895, to 5 PM on Sunday) and Golden Gate under the S-Bahn (4.1 across 1,160, 24 hours on Saturday) are the names, and they are the ones pulling the average down. Beate Uwe on Schillingstraße (4.6 across 500) and Bar Neiro on Ohmstraße (4.9 across 182, €10–20) are the rooms in the same zip that the city actually rates. Zip 10178, Alexanderplatz, has 57 events across 7 venues, and the tower at Alexanderstraße 7 holds both The Cloud (4.8 across 1,122, €10–20, Friday and Saturday 10 PM to 5 AM), the best-rated club in Berlin, and House of Weekend (4.3 across 970). M-BIA on Dircksenstraße (4.0 across 913) rounds out the clubs. The bars around them are big and steady: Oase Deluxe (4.7 across 1,557, 10 AM to 5 AM every day), The Pub on Rochstraße (4.6 across 2,513, to 4 AM Thursday and Friday), Kilkenny (4.3 across 6,130), Eschschloraque (4.4 across 1,132, to 4 AM on the weekend).

North of there the calendar thins and the ratings climb. Torstraße and Rosenthaler Platz, zips 10119 and 10115, have no revealed club at all and 17 rated bars: 100 Gramm Bar (4.8 across 4,291, €10–20, to 5 AM Friday and Saturday), Bar Steinkeller (4.8 across 325, to 4 AM every night), Reingold (4.8 across 550), Patesô (4.9 across 323), Beavis Bar (4.9 across 325), Mikkeller (4.6 across 1,741). If the plan is a club at one and a bar you will remember at four, Mitte is the one district where both are on the same U-Bahn line.

Kreuzberg is a bar district with a club problem

Kreuzberg has 123 listed events across 24 venues, 18.6% of the city, and 36 rated rooms at 4.51. Split them and the story writes itself: 31 bars at 4.59, 5 clubs at 4.02. Twenty-three of the 36 rooms sit at 4.5 or above.

Zip 10999 is Oranienstraße and Wiener Straße, 51 events across 6 venues, the busiest corner outside Friedrichshain and Mitte. Bar11 on Wiener Straße (4.6 across 365, €1–10, 3 PM to 3 AM every day of the week), Facciola on Forster Straße (4.8 across 673), Hopfenreich (4.5 across 2,221) and The Harp on Oranienplatz (4.5 across 362) are the bars; Bulbul on Skalitzer Straße (4.3 across 380) is the club. Zip 10997, the Schleusenufer and the Skalitzer Straße arches, has 37 events across 10 venues: Birgit (4.6 across 3,597, to 6 AM Saturday and Sunday) and Æden (4.2 across 654, €20–30, to 10 AM on Sunday) share the address at Schleusenufer 3, and Space Meduza (4.6 across 967), Schwarze Traube (4.4 across 727, to 4 AM on the weekend) and Mirror Lounge (4.8 across 612) are the Skalitzer side.

The club problem is on Ritterstraße and Prinzenstraße, zip 10969: 17 events across 4 venues, and the two clubs are Ritter Butzke (3.8 across 2,291, to 9 AM Sunday) and Prince Charles (3.6 across 582, €20–30), the only two Kreuzberg nightlife rooms rated under 4.0. Walk south to Bergmannstraße and zip 10961 and the district is a different city: Suspiria (4.9 across 289), LIMONADIER (4.7 across 1,407), Zyankali (4.7 across 2,063) and Clash in the Mehringhof (4.5 across 3,697, €1–10, to 3 AM), seven rooms at 4.64 and not a club among them.

Schöneberg is the best-rated district in Berlin, and the quietest

Twelve rated nightlife rooms, an average of 4.69, eleven of the twelve at 4.5 or better, none under 4.0, and no club. Schöneberg has the best average of any district in the city and 10 listed events across 5 venues, 1.5% of the calendar.

Nollendorfplatz is the core. Nachbar on Maaßenstraße is a 4.9 across 999 reviews in the €10–20 band, open to 5 AM on Friday and Saturday, with the second-largest review sample behind any 4.9 bar in the city after Noor Lounge in Prenzlauer Berg. Green Door Bar on Winterfeldtstraße holds a 4.8 across 878, Stagger Lee on Nollendorfstraße a 4.7 across 917, FABELEI a 4.7 across 532, and Maigold on Merseburger Straße a 4.8 across 513, to 4 AM on the weekend. White Lounge Shisha on Goebenstraße is a 4.8 across 3,809, the biggest review sample in the district, and runs to 4:30 AM on Saturday. The Potsdamer Platz end of the zip set is the hotel-bar tier: The Curtain Club (4.5 across 366), Posh Bar (4.6 across 596), Karakas (4.5 across 302), The Alchemist (4.4 across 1,525).

Pick the district by the question you are asking. If it is how many doors can I fall through tonight, the answer is zip 10245 and nothing else is close. If it is will I like the room, it is Schöneberg, where the calendar is nearly empty and it does not matter.

The number behind that is 132 against 10. Schöneberg's rooms do not list events because they do not need to. A bar that is open until five every weekend and rates 4.9 on a thousand reviews is not promoting a Saturday. Friedrichshain lists 202 nights because each of them is a separate ticket, a separate line-up and a separate door decision, and the ratings are the sum of everyone who did not get in.

Where the rest of the calendar goes

Four smaller zips carry more listed nights than Schöneberg's whole set, and none of them is on the tourist map. Zip 13347 in Wedding has 26 events across 5 venues; Panke Culture on Gerichtstraße (4.6 across 822) is the revealed club there, tied with Beate Uwe as the second-best-rated club in the city after The Cloud. Zip 10365 in Lichtenberg has 25 across 3, and VOID on Wiesenweg (4.3 across 927, €10–20, to 8 AM on Sunday) is the room. Zip 12435 in Treptow, across the canal from Kreuzberg, has 24 across 7: Club der Visionäre (4.0 across 1,860, €10–20), ELSE (4.3 across 686, €20–30, to 8 AM Sunday) and the boat, MS Hoppetosse (4.4 across 560). Zip 12043 in Neukölln has 17 across 4, with Sameheads on Richardstraße (4.4 across 693) and Velvet on Ganghoferstraße (4.7 across 605).

Two districts are worth a line for the rooms rather than the calendar. Prenzlauer Berg's 21 rated rooms average 4.55 with none under 4.0: Noor Lounge (4.9 across 1,157, to 5 AM on the weekend), Rakete (4.9 across 174), Unsre Kneipe (4.9 across 730) and Soda Club on Schönhauser Allee (4.4 across 1,626, €10–20). Charlottenburg's 20 rooms average 4.64, and its one club, Maxxim (4.4 across 5,156, to 6 AM Saturday and Sunday), out-rates all but one of the 14 revealed clubs in Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, on a review sample larger than any of them except Matrix and Berghain.

What a district average cannot tell you

A district's calendar is a count of promoted nights, not of good ones. A district's rating is a verdict on every Saturday that already happened, and it includes the people who never got past the door. Neither knows whether Crack Bellmer's floor is full at 2 AM on this particular Friday or whether Nachbar has a private party. Where a room streams live on Tizy, tap it and hear the floor before you cross the city for it. If it is dead, you will hear it.

One honest limit. The events cut counts listings tied to a venue with a Berlin address, revealed or not, so it measures the promoted calendar, not every night that happens. Neukölln's Weserstraße bars and Prenzlauer Berg's Kastanienallee post far fewer listings than they have nights, and this piece will not invent a count for them.

Pick the district by what the night is for

  • The most doors on one night, and a ticket for each: zip 10245, Revaler Straße 99 first, Matrix under the arches, Crack Bellmer to 6 AM, knowing the zip averages 4.17.
  • A club and a good bar within a five-minute walk: Mitte, The Cloud or House of Weekend at Alexanderstraße 7, then Oase Deluxe or The Pub until five.
  • Bars first, clubs never: Bergmannkiez in Kreuzberg or Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain, seven and nine rooms respectively, averaging 4.64 and 4.61, no club in either.
  • The best-rated room in the city and no line: Schöneberg, Nachbar until 5 AM, Green Door, Maigold.
  • A Sunday that is still going: the Schleusenufer, Æden to 10 AM and Birgit to 6, or Club der Visionäre and ELSE across the canal in Treptow.
  • The name on the wall: Berghain, one zip over from the busiest corner in the city, 3.9 across 5,895, and the door is not in any database.

FAQ

What area of Berlin is best for nightlife?

It depends on which number you trust. For the most listed nights, Friedrichshain: 202 upcoming events across 30 venues, 30.6% of the city's calendar on 14.9% of its rated rooms, with zip 10245 around Warschauer Straße alone carrying 132. For the best-rated rooms, Schöneberg: 12 rated rooms at 4.69, eleven of them at 4.5 or better, and only 10 listed events. Mitte is the compromise, second on the calendar with 158 events and second among the big districts on rating at 4.51, with the best-rated club in the city, The Cloud at 4.8, and 100 Gramm Bar at 4.8 across 4,291 reviews in the same district.

Where should you avoid in Berlin at night?

On the ratings, no district in this piece is worth avoiding, but one zip deserves eyes open. Zip 10245, Warschauer Straße and the RAW-Gelände, averages 4.17 across 14 rated rooms, the lowest of any Berlin zip with more than five rooms, and holds five of the city's thirteen nightlife rooms rated under 4.0: Süss War Gestern at 3.9, Lokschuppen and ://about blank at 3.7, Club OST and the Maaya beer garden at 3.6. It is also the busiest corner in the city by a wide margin, so the crowd is the point. Personal-safety questions are not something a rating answers, and this piece does not try.

What is the coolest neighborhood in Berlin for going out?

The one whose numbers match its reputation is Kreuzberg's bar side. The Bergmannstraße zip has seven rated rooms at 4.64 with no club, Oranienstraße and Wiener Straße carry 51 listed events across 6 venues, and Bar11 is open 3 PM to 3 AM every day at a single-euro price band. Friedrichshain's Boxhagener Platz side, zip 10247, is the same shape: nine bars at 4.61, Bretterbude and YSY at 4.8, Minimal Bar open to 5 AM. Both are ten minutes from a famous club and rate half a point above it.

Is there a strip of bars in Berlin?

Not one, but a few short ones the database can see. Revaler Straße 99 in Friedrichshain is the densest single address, with Cassiopeia, Crack Bellmer, The White Rabbit, Lokschuppen and Urban Spree in one yard. Torstraße and the streets off Rosenthaler Platz in Mitte run 100 Gramm Bar, Bar Steinkeller, Mikkeller, BonBon, Pawn Dot Com and Pik As within a few hundred meters, all rated 4.4 or better. Oranienstraße and Wiener Straße in Kreuzberg are the third, and Maaßenstraße and Winterfeldtstraße in Schöneberg are the best-rated stretch of the four, with Nachbar at 4.9 and Green Door at 4.8.

Is Berlin known for clubbing, and does the data back it up?

Yes on volume, no on ratings. Berlin's events feed lists 666 upcoming nights, and its 36 revealed clubs include the most-reviewed nightlife room in the city, Matrix at 11,789 reviews, and the most famous, Berghain at 5,895. But the 36 clubs average 4.14 against 4.58 for the city's 173 bars, and nine of the thirteen rooms rated under 4.0 are clubs. The district with the most clubs, Friedrichshain, is the lowest-rated of the big four at 4.34. The clubbing reputation is real; the reviews say the bars are better.

Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg, which is better for a night out?

Friedrichshain for choice, Kreuzberg for the room. Friedrichshain lists 202 events across 30 venues to Kreuzberg's 123 across 24, and its 9 revealed clubs to Kreuzberg's 5. Kreuzberg's 36 rated rooms average 4.51 to Friedrichshain's 4.34, has 2 rooms under 4.0 to Friedrichshain's 6, and its bars average 4.59 to 4.49. They share the Oberbaumbrücke, so the practical answer is both: a club on Revaler Straße, then Birgit or Bar11 across the bridge when it closes, or the other way round on a Sunday when Æden is open until ten.
