The best nights to go out in Barcelona are Saturday if you want the city full, Thursday if you want it full and cheaper to get into, and Sunday afternoon if you want it free. The night to skip is Tuesday, and not because nothing happens. Twenty-eight Tuesday nights sit on Tizy's live events feed for Barcelona right now, and not one of them is listed as free entry. Saturday carries 204 listings and 23 of them are free. Every figure in this piece was measured on 2026-10-17 from tizy-db, the venue and events database behind Tizy, and every room named is a real listing with its real Google rating and review count.
That is the short version. The long version has three instruments. The feed counts what promoters list, 527 upcoming nights across the city, and tells you which weekday has the most on and which weekday charges. The posted Google hours of the 26 revealed clubs and 96 bars tell you which nights the doors are open at all, and the answer is that 15 to 17 of the 26 clubs post Closed on each of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, against one on a Friday. The popular-times curves of the 72 rooms that publish one tell you when the floors are actually full, and they put the bars at 91 on a Saturday night, 88 on a Friday, 68 on a Thursday and 47 on a Tuesday, on a scale where 100 is each room's own busiest hour of the week. The instruments disagree about the beachfront, which peaks on a Thursday, and agree about Tuesday.
Tuesday is the one night Barcelona charges everyone
Take every event on the feed with a Barcelona address and a start time in the future, drop the cancelled ones, and group by the weekday it starts. The feed is built from Resident Advisor and Xceed listings, 366 and 161 of the 527, so it counts programmed nights with a lineup, and the free flag is the promoter's own.
| Day | Listed events | Free events | Free share | Distinct venues |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday | 44 | 8 | 18.2% | 22 |
| Monday | 34 | 5 | 14.7% | 10 |
| Tuesday | 28 | 0 | 0.0% | 10 |
| Wednesday | 49 | 8 | 16.3% | 19 |
| Thursday | 65 | 6 | 9.2% | 23 |
| Friday | 103 | 5 | 4.9% | 49 |
| Saturday | 204 | 23 | 11.3% | 83 |
| All seven | 527 | 55 | 10.4% | — |
Read the Tuesday row against the two rows either side of it. Monday has fewer rooms open than Tuesday, as the hours below will show, and still lists five free nights out of 34. Wednesday lists eight free out of 49. Tuesday lists none, and it is not a sampling accident of a small day, because the Tuesday calendar is narrow in a very specific way. Fourteen of the 28 listings are the same room: Disco City Hall on the Rambla de Catalunya, a 3.9 across 2,810 reviews in the €20–30 band, which runs a Tuesday every week on the feed through 29 December. The next two Tuesdays, 20 and 27 October, hold 19 of the 28 between them, and from 3 November on the Tuesday feed is City Hall alone, one listing a week. The other Tuesday rooms are Moog on the Carrer de l'Arc del Teatre, a 4.0 across 3,508 in the €10–20 band, which lists its Tuesday resident on both dates, Macarena Club on the Carrer Nou de Sant Francesc, a 4.0 across 1,006, the two Jamboree rooms, Red Garter, a hostel afterwork at 6 PM and the 26th-floor room at the W.
Only two of the 28 carry a listed door price at all, both at Macarena, both €10. The other 26 publish neither a price nor a free flag, which is its own kind of answer: nobody on a Barcelona Tuesday is advertising that you can walk in for nothing. One of the W listings on 27 October carries the words "free guest list" in its title and no free flag, and that is the closest the day gets.
Saturday is the opposite shape. Its 204 listings spread across 83 venue names, the widest spread of any night by a distance, and the 23 free ones are not one promoter's habit. A rooftop at the Hotel Negresco Princess lists a free disco-house session on five consecutive Saturdays at 6 PM. Sala Apolo on the Carrer Nou de la Rambla, a 4.2 across 11,889, the most-reviewed room in Poble-sec, lists a free 6:30 PM session on 17, 24 and 31 October. Bridge 48 lists two free techno nights, M7 Club on the Carrer de Mèxic, a 4.4 across 1,230, lists a free warm-up at 6 PM on 17 October, and Garage 442, Almanac, a Halloween warehouse and a rooftop in Barceloneta fill out the rest.
The free Saturday starts before eight
Here is the detail that turns the Saturday number from a curiosity into a plan. Seventeen of the 23 free Saturday listings start before 8 PM. The 6 PM rooftop, the 6:30 PM Apolo session, the 6 PM M7 warm-up, a 4 PM Halloween gathering, an "aperitivo electrónico" at six. Three of those seventeen are in Girona, Sant Boi and Igualada, which the feed files under Barcelona and which are not a tram ride, so call it fourteen in the city. Only six of the 23 start at nine or later. The free Barcelona Saturday is the early one. By the time the clubs open at midnight the free list is over and the 74 priced Saturday listings take over, median €15, four of them at €30 or more and none above €40.
The city's price shape by night is worth printing once, because nobody on page one of the search results prints it. Of the 527 listings, 163 carry a price. Eighty-five of those sit in the €10–20 band, 47 in €20–30, 20 under €10 and 11 at €30 or above. By weekday the median listed minimum is €10 on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, €18 on a Wednesday, €15 on a Thursday, €13 on a Friday and €15 on a Saturday. Friday has the lowest median of the two weekend nights and the lowest free share after Tuesday, 4.9%: it is the night the city charges a little less to get into a lot more rooms. Forty-nine venue names carry a Friday listing against ten on a Tuesday.
Barcelona does not discount its quiet nights. It discounts its busiest one, and only before eight. The cheap night out in this city is the one that starts in daylight on a rooftop or in Apolo's front room at half six, and the expensive one is a Tuesday at midnight on the Rambla de Catalunya, where the cover is the only thing on the door that is certain.
The doors go dark on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
The feed counts programmed nights. The posted hours count whether the room is open at all, lineup or not, and in Barcelona they tell a cleaner story than in most cities. Of the 27 revealed clubs in tizy-db, 26 publish Google opening hours. All 96 revealed bars do. One caveat before the table: a bar that opens at 7 PM files its night under the evening it opens, while a club that opens at midnight is often filed by Google under the morning it runs into, so a club posting Closed on a Tuesday may mean no Monday-night session. It does not change the shape. The three dark days are the three dark days either way.
| Posted day | Clubs posting Closed (of 26) | Bars posting Closed (of 96) | Clubs posting hours to 6 AM or later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunday | 5 | 20 | 16 |
| Monday | 15 | 26 | 1 |
| Tuesday | 17 | 14 | 1 |
| Wednesday | 16 | 2 | 1 |
| Thursday | 8 | 1 | 1 |
| Friday | 1 | 0 | 6 |
| Saturday | 2 | 1 | 21 |
The clubs that run through Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are the seven-night rooms, and the list is short enough to memorise: City Hall, Moog, Macarena, Shôko and Opium on the Passeig Marítim in Barceloneta, a 3.7 across 10,374 and a 3.5 across 8,366 in the $$$ band, and Believe Club on the Carrer de Balmes, a 3.6 across 640. Sala Apolo posts midnight to 5 AM from Tuesday to Saturday and 5 PM to 5 AM on a Sunday, and Marula Cafè on the Carrer dels Escudellers, a 4.2 across 1,865, posts hours every day, 9 PM to midnight on a Tuesday and midnight to 5 AM from Wednesday. Luz de Gas on the Carrer de Muntaner, a 4.0 across 6,809, posts its first midweek session under Wednesday. That is nine clubs with hours that cover a Tuesday night, and the three of them the feed lists on a Tuesday, City Hall, Moog and Macarena, are the three with something programmed.
Everything else waits for Thursday. Wolf Barcelona on the Carrer dels Almogàvers in Poblenou, a 4.5 across 12,324 and the best-rated club in the city with more than a thousand reviews, posts Closed from Sunday through Wednesday and opens Thursday at midnight. Razzmatazz up the same street at number 122, a 4.2 across 22,578 and the most-reviewed nightlife room in Barcelona, posts Closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and opens Thursday at 12:30 AM. Nitsa, M7, INPUT on Montjuïc and Undead Dark Club in Sants all post Closed until Friday, Sala Bikini on the Diagonal until Thursday, and Draco in Gràcia posts a Monday session and nothing again until Friday. On a Saturday 21 of the 24 clubs with posted hours run until 6 AM or later. Razzmatazz posts 1 AM to 6 AM on a Saturday, Sala Plataforma 7 AM, Colors Club on La Rambla 6:30.
The bars are the other half of the Monday story, and the half that will surprise you. Twenty-six of the 96 bars post Closed on a Monday, and the ones that close are the good ones. Número Tres on the Carrer de les Sitges, a perfect 5.0 across 1,157 reviews, the highest-rated room in the city with more than a thousand reviews, is shut Monday and Sunday. So are Gangsta's Paradise, a 5.0 across 322, Lonely Bar Hi-Fi in Gràcia, a 5.0 across 171, Focacha on the Carrer de Tuset, a 4.9 across 626, which is also shut Tuesday, El Quinto Moño on the Carrer de Villarroel, a 4.8 across 678, Kafuné, a 4.8 across 536, BLOC 34 in Gràcia, a 4.8 across 445, and Casa Astor in Sants, a 4.7 across 385. Seventeen of the bars rated 4.7 or higher post Closed on a Monday. By Wednesday two bars in the whole set are shut, by Thursday one, and on a Friday none.
The floors say Saturday for the bars and Thursday for the beach
Google's popular-times data scores each hour of each day from 0 to 100 against a room's own busiest hour of the week. Seventy-two of the 125 revealed, rated Barcelona rooms publish a curve, eight clubs and 64 bars. Score each room's night as its peak between 8 PM and 3 AM the following morning, then average by room type.
| Night | Clubs, avg night peak (8 rooms) | Bars, avg night peak (64 rooms) | Rooms whose busiest night this is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | 27.5 | 42.5 | 0 |
| Tuesday | 33.4 | 47.1 | 2 |
| Wednesday | 37.0 | 49.9 | 0 |
| Thursday | 61.3 | 68.0 | 1 |
| Friday | 65.9 | 88.3 | 25 |
| Saturday | 83.6 | 91.4 | 42 |
| Sunday | 60.9 | 45.2 | 2 |
Forty-two of the 72 rooms have their busiest night on a Saturday and 25 on a Friday, which leaves five rooms in the city whose week peaks on any other night. The Friday rooms are the cocktail bars with the highest ratings in the set: Especiarium on the Carrer de la Princesa, a 4.9 across 2,566, at 100 on a Friday and 88 on a Saturday; Don Bar on the Comte d'Urgell, a 4.9 across 2,223, Friday 100, Saturday 63; Bestiari on the Carrer del Rec, a 4.9 across 1,644; Never in the Raval, a 4.9 across 775; Hemingway Gin & Cocktail Bar on the Muntaner, a 4.7 across 2,120; Dry Martini on the Aribau, a 4.4 across 3,257. The Saturday rooms are the big ones: Eleven Shisha Lounge on the Còrsega, a 4.9 across 4,089; Mariposa Negra on the Plaça de les Olles, a 4.8 across 4,780; Kahiki on the Gran Via, a 4.7 across 5,741, at 100 on a Saturday against 16 on a Monday; Bobby's Free on the Pau Claris, a 4.6 across 4,236; Torre Rosa in Sant Andreu, a 4.4 across 5,368; Monk in the Born, a 4.4 across 4,288; Bar Marsella in the Raval, a 4.4 across 3,716, Saturday 100 and Friday 98.
The clubs are where the table stops being obvious. Of the eight with a curve, four peak on a Saturday: Marula Cafè at 100, with a 90 on Friday and a 75 on Sunday; Moog at 100, with nothing above 66 on any other night; Shôko at 100; and Sala Plataforma at 100, with a 60 on Thursday and a 33 on Friday. Believe Club peaks on a Friday at 100 and reads 45 on a Saturday. Hyde Club on the Passatge de Domingo, a 3.8 across 1,846, and Barroko's on the Aribau, a 3.5 across 2,600, both peak on a Sunday at 100, with Saturday at 70 and 90. And Opium peaks on a Thursday at 100, with Tuesday at 84, Wednesday 79, Monday 78, Friday 73 and Saturday 64, its quietest night of the week. Shôko next door reads 77 on a Thursday and 61 on a Friday.
So the beachfront runs a different week from the rest of the city. On the Passeig Marítim, Thursday is the busiest night and Saturday is the slowest, and Opium's Tuesday reading of 84 is the highest Tuesday number any club in Barcelona posts. That is the honest counterweight to the feed's Tuesday row: the night with no free listing anywhere is also the night one of Barceloneta's two big rooms is at four fifths of its peak, with a $$$ price band and a seven-night posted schedule. If the question is where the people are on a Tuesday, the answer is a beach club with a cover, which is exactly what the feed said.
Thursday is a real second night, not a warm-up
Sixty-five Thursday listings across 23 venue names is a modest count next to Friday's 103, but the venue count is the number to watch. Twenty-three distinct rooms on a Thursday is more than Wednesday's 19 and one more than Sunday's 22, and nearly the whole club map is open: eight of the 26 clubs post Closed under Thursday against 16 the day before, one bar in the set is shut, and the bar floors read 68.0, two thirds of Saturday. The Thursday feed is City Hall with 12 listings, Slow Barcelona on the Carrer de París, a 4.5 across 3,837 in the €10–20 band, with six, Sala Apolo with four, Wolf, Moog, Macarena, a Negresco rooftop, Bridge 48, La Terrrazza on Montjuïc and a run of unrevealed Raval and Born rooms. Six of the 65 are free, 9.2%, and the 13 priced ones have a median of €15.
One contradiction in the data is worth naming because it tells you how to read the rest. M7 Club carries four Thursday listings on the feed and posts Closed on a Thursday on Google. The listings have dates and promoters on them and the posted hours do not, so trust the listing. The same reading applies across the week: a room's posted hours are the owner's habit and the feed is a promoter's commitment, and when they differ the one with a date wins.
Sunday is a daytime city with the highest free share of the week
Forty-four Sunday listings is the second-smallest row on the feed and it has the largest share of free entries, 18.2%, eight of 44. It is also a different time of day. Eleven of the 44 start before 6 PM and 18 before 9 PM: pool and open-air sessions at the Seasea Club, which carries 11 of the 44 between its two feed names, a 3 PM session on the party bus, a 4 PM Halloween afternoon at Sala Apolo on 25 October, and the Negresco rooftop's free afrohouse sunset at 6 PM on 18 and 25 October. The ten listings that start after 10 PM all start at midnight, and the most reliable of them is free: Sidecar lists a free electro party every Sunday at midnight through 15 November. Sunday's 11 priced listings have a median of €10, level with Monday and Tuesday.
The hours tell you where not to go. Twenty of the 96 bars post Closed on a Sunday, and again it is the top of the rating table that takes the night off: Número Tres, Gangsta's Paradise, Lonely Bar Hi-Fi, Focacha, The Circle on the Carrer Ample, a 4.9 across 237, Sway Soul Lounge on the Diagonal, a 4.8 across 1,057, El Quinto Moño, BLOC 34, Zim on the Carrer de la Dagueria, a 4.8 across 437, Cobbler on the Casanova, a 4.8 across 403, Space Cowboy in the Born, a 4.7 across 1,481. The clubs are the surprise in the other direction. Only five of the 26 post Closed under Sunday, 16 post hours to 6 AM or later, and two of the eight with a curve, Hyde and Barroko's, have their busiest night of the week on it. The club floors average 60.9 on a Sunday, their third-highest night, a rounding error behind Thursday's 61.3 and a long way ahead of Monday's 27.5.
What a listing and a curve cannot tell you
Three honest limits. The feed is Resident Advisor and Xceed, so a brown bar in Gràcia with no lineup never appears in it, and a city-wide count of 527 says nothing about the 96 bars that are open most nights with nothing programmed at all. The free flag is the promoter's: 364 of the 527 listings carry neither a price nor a flag, and a room that charges €10 at the door and never typed it in counts the same as one that charges nothing and never said so. And a popular-times curve is a monthly average of foot traffic, which is why Chica Club and Switch Bar, which list free Wednesday nights, cannot be scored here at all.
A 4.9 across 2,566 reviews does not know it is a wet Tuesday in November, and a curve that says 84 does not know the resident cancelled. Tizy streams the rooms that have a mic in them, so the move on a night the tables above call a coin flip is to open the room on the app and listen for thirty seconds before you pay a €20 cover to find out.
Pick the night by what you want from it
- The fullest city, no question: Saturday. 204 listings across 83 venues, 42 of the 72 scored rooms at their weekly peak, the bars at 91.4 and 21 clubs posting hours to 6 AM or later. Razzmatazz, Wolf, Moog, Marula and Plataforma are all at or near 100.
- The fullest city for less: Friday. 103 listings across 49 venues, a median listed door of €13, no bars shut, one club shut. The 4.9 cocktail bars, Especiarium, Don Bar, Bestiari and Never, all peak tonight rather than tomorrow.
- A free night out: Saturday before eight, or Sunday. Seventeen of Saturday's 23 free listings start before 8 PM, Negresco's rooftop and Apolo's early room among them; Sunday has the highest free share on the feed at 18.2% and a free midnight party at Sidecar every week.
- A club night with room to move: Thursday. Eight clubs dark instead of 16, 23 venues on the feed, the bars at 68 and the beachfront at its weekly peak. Wolf and Razzmatazz open tonight for the first time since Sunday.
- A quiet bar: Wednesday. Two bars in the whole set are closed and the bar floors read 49.9, half of Saturday, with eight free listings across Chica Club, Switch Bar and Garage 442.
- Tuesday: City Hall, Moog or Macarena with a cover, or Opium on the beach at 84. Nothing on the feed is free and 17 of the 26 clubs post Closed. If budget decides, this is the night to skip.
- Monday: a seven-night club or a bar that is not on the 4.7+ list. Twenty-six bars and 15 clubs post Closed, and the floors read 27.5 for clubs and 42.5 for bars, the lowest of the week.
Start with the Barcelona nightlife hub for the whole city in one read, then clubs in Barcelona for all 27 revealed clubs with hours, rating and price band, or bars in Barcelona for the 96 rooms that are open on the nights the clubs are not. For the same weekday grid in a city whose midweek is one week long, the best nights to go out in Amsterdam piece counts ADE week against the other 48, and the best nights to go out in Berlin piece reads a calendar that lists 135 nights from Monday to Wednesday. Or skip the reading and open Barcelona in Tizy to hear which room is alive right now. NIGHTS NEVER END, and in Barcelona the free ones end at eight.
FAQ
What is the best night to go out in Barcelona?
Saturday, by every instrument in the database. Tizy's events feed lists 204 upcoming Saturday nights across 83 Barcelona venues, against 103 on a Friday and 65 on a Thursday, and 42 of the 72 revealed rooms with a Google popular-times curve have their busiest night of the week on a Saturday. The bars average 91.4 on a Saturday night on a scale where 100 is each room's own peak hour, the clubs 83.6, and 21 of the 24 clubs with posted Saturday hours run until 6 AM or later. Friday is the value version of the same night, with a median listed door of €13 against Saturday's €15.
Is Tuesday a good night to go out in Barcelona?
Only if you are happy to pay and you know which room. Tuesday is the one weekday on Tizy's feed with no free-entry listing at all, zero of 28, and 14 of those 28 are a single room, Disco City Hall on the Rambla de Catalunya, which runs every Tuesday through December. Seventeen of the 26 clubs with posted hours are Closed on a Tuesday, and the nine that stay open are the seven-night rooms: City Hall, Moog, Macarena, Shôko, Opium, Believe, Sala Apolo, Marula Cafè and Luz de Gas. The one real Tuesday floor is Opium on the Passeig Marítim, which reads 84 on its popular-times curve, the highest Tuesday number of any club in the city.
Is Barcelona busier on Friday or Saturday?
Saturday, by a clear margin on the floors and double the listings on the feed. The bars average 91.4 on a Saturday night against 88.3 on a Friday, the clubs 83.6 against 65.9, and 42 rooms peak on Saturday against 25 on Friday. The feed carries 204 Saturday listings and 103 Friday ones, and 83 venue names against 49. The rooms that go the other way are the top-rated cocktail bars, Especiarium, Don Bar, Bestiari, Never and Hemingway, which all hit 100 on a Friday, and Believe Club, whose Friday is 100 and Saturday 45.
Are clubs in Barcelona open on a Monday?
Eleven of the 26 clubs with posted hours are, and 15 are not. The open ones are the seven-night rooms, City Hall, Moog, Macarena, Shôko, Opium and Believe, plus M7, Draco, Marula Cafè, Illusion and Hyde, which posts midnight to 2 AM. Wolf, Razzmatazz, Sala Apolo, Nitsa, INPUT, Sala Bikini, Luz de Gas, Colors, Barroko's and Plataforma all post Closed. The club floors average 27.5 on a Monday night on the popular-times curves, the lowest of the week, and 26 of the 96 bars are shut too, including three of the five 5.0-rated rooms with more than a hundred reviews.
What is there to do in Barcelona on a Sunday night?
Go in the afternoon and stay. Eleven of the 44 Sunday listings on the feed start before 6 PM and 18 before 9 PM, pool and open-air sessions at the Seasea Club, a 4 PM Halloween afternoon at Sala Apolo on 25 October, and a free afrohouse sunset on the Negresco Princess rooftop at 6 PM. Sunday has the highest free share of any night, 18.2%, and a median listed door of €10. After midnight the reliable room is Sidecar, which lists a free electro party every Sunday, and the clubs are busier than you would guess: only five of 26 post Closed, and Hyde Club and Barroko's both have their busiest night of the week on a Sunday. Twenty of the 96 bars are shut, most of them the 4.8s and 4.9s.
Where should I stay in Barcelona for nightlife?
Ciutat Vella if you want to walk, the Esquerra de l'Eixample if you want the bars that score highest. Postcode 08002, the Gothic Quarter and the edge of the Raval, holds 17 of the 125 revealed rooms and five of the 27 clubs, Marula Cafè, Moog, Macarena, Karma and Colors, at an average rating of 4.45. The Born, 08003, holds 16 rooms at 4.58 with Opium at the beach end, and the Raval proper, 08001, holds 11 bars and no clubs at 4.54. The 11 rooms in 08011 around the Comte d'Urgell and Villarroel average 4.69, the highest of any postcode with more than ten rooms, with Don Bar and Cobbler among them. The big clubs are elsewhere: Razzmatazz and Wolf in Poblenou, 08018, and Sala Apolo, Nitsa, M7 and Plataforma on the Paral·lel side of Poble-sec, 08004.
What time do clubs in Barcelona close?
Six in the morning on a weekend and five on a weeknight, almost everywhere. On a Saturday 21 of the 24 clubs with posted hours run to 6 AM or later: Razzmatazz posts 1 AM to 6 AM, Sala Plataforma to 7 AM, Colors Club on La Rambla to 6:30, and Wolf, Moog, Macarena, City Hall, Luz de Gas, Shôko and Opium all to 6. The exceptions are Sala Apolo at 5 AM, Decode on the Aribau at 3 AM and Telephone night bar on the same street at 3:30. Midweek the seven-night rooms post midnight to 5 AM, Shôko to 6, and the bars with the latest doors, Kahiki on the Gran Via, Bobby's Free and Zaza Lounge on the Escudellers, run to 3 AM or 4 AM every night of the week.
