Most of a Dubai nightlife guide is written from the back of a taxi: the Marina for the waterfront, Downtown for the view, DIFC for the cocktails, Business Bay for the clubs. The thing every one of those guides leaves out is the building. Dubai licenses alcohol to venues, and for most of the city's history that meant venues attached to a hotel, so the night here runs through a lobby and a lift more than through a street. Of the 59 bars and clubs Tizy has revealed in Dubai with a Google rating, 34 sit inside a hotel, a resort or the airport by their own address. Those 34 average 4.46. The 25 that do not average 4.66. Every figure in this piece is measured 2026-10-01 from tizy-db, the live venue database behind Tizy, and every room named is a real listing with its real rating and review count.

The short version, before the lift doors close: the hotel is where the licence lives, not where the quality lives. Dubai's 14 hotel night clubs average 4.25 and hold five of the city's eight AED 500+ price bands. Its 10 standalone clubs average 4.59 and hold the two most-reviewed rooms in the city. The bars barely notice which side of the lobby they are on. Pick the room, not the brand on the awning.

Dubai nightlife runs through a hotel lobby, and the lobby costs you

Split the 59 rated rooms by whether the Google address or the listing name carries a hotel, resort or airport, then split again by club or bar. This is the shape of the city.

The club gap is a third of a point. Half of the hotel clubs rate under 4.3; a fifth of the standalone ones do. The only two rooms in Dubai rated under 4.0, Avenue Club at the Shangri-La (3.8 across 598) and Chameleon Club at the Social Hotel (3.6 across 297), are both hotel clubs. The only hotel club at 4.8 or better is The Mansion at FIVE Jumeirah Village, a 4.8 across 1,243 that opens 9 PM to 4 AM every night of the week.

Two honest caveats on the standalone side. Two of its ten clubs are tiny samples, Maya nightclub at 5.0 across 11 reviews and Nightclub Dubai at 5.0 across 15. Drop them and the other eight standalone clubs still average 4.49, a quarter of a point above the hotel clubs on 12,286 reviews. And the split is a keyword match on the address and name, so a club whose listing names its street and not its hotel lands on the standalone side. The method is transparent, and it is the same for every room.

The hotel clubs are where the AED 500+ band lives

Eight rooms in Dubai post Google's top price band, AED 500+. Six are night clubs, and five of those six are inside a hotel. Together the five average 4.16.

Opus Club at the Mövenpick in Oud Metha is the best of them, a 4.5 across 850, 9 PM to 3 AM seven nights. Marq Nightclub at the Dubai Marine Beach Resort in Jumeirah 1 is a 4.3 across 215, closed Monday. XO Nightclub at the Radisson Blu Waterfront in Business Bay is a 4.2 across 1,186, 10:30 PM to 4 AM every night. BLU Dubai at the V Hotel in Al Habtoor City, the most-reviewed hotel club in the city at 1,608, holds a 4.0. Avenue Club on the 42nd floor of the Shangri-La on Sheikh Zayed Road is a 3.8 across 598, and its Google hours read "Closed" on all seven days. The sixth AED 500+ club, Omni Club in Umm Hurair, is standalone, a 4.1 across 1,491, 11 PM to 4 AM daily.

The other two AED 500+ rooms are not clubs and they rate like a different city. ALTO 54 in Downtown is a lounge bar, a 4.9 across 534, open 9 AM to 2 AM every day. Nightclub Dubai on Marasi Drive is a disco club with 15 reviews and a 5.0, posted "Open 24 hours". Take the top band as a whole and the two non-club rooms average 4.95 while the six clubs average 4.15.

Below the top band, the hotel clubs that post no price at all do better than the ones that do. The seven hotel clubs with no band average 4.44: The Mansion (4.8), Vision Dubai at The H hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road (4.6 across 614, 9 PM to 4 AM daily), BLING at FIVE Palm Jumeirah (4.5 across 963, closed Monday and Wednesday), REGAL RUSSIAN CLUB at the Regent Palace in Karama (4.4 across 446, 8 PM to 4 AM), Vibz at the Fairmont (4.4 across 318, 10 PM to 4 AM), Eve Lounge at the Voco (4.2 across 340) and Lekki at the Millennium Central Downtown (4.2 across 307, closed Monday). The two that post a mid band, Muscovites at the Canvas Hotel ($$, 4.0 across 398) and Chameleon ($$$, 3.6), are the floor of the entire category.

Standalone clubs rate a third of a point higher, and two of them hold 9,000 reviews

The ten clubs that do not name a hotel are scattered across the city, which is exactly the point: Dubai's best-rated and busiest clubs are not in the tower strip a guide would send you to.

Zeus in Jumeirah Beach Residence is the best-rated club in Dubai with a real sample, a 4.9 across 467, 9 PM to 4 AM every night. Club One off Sheikh Zayed Road is a 4.8 across 421 and posts the latest regular close in the city, 8 PM to 4:30 AM, seven nights. Club Iris at the Meydan Grandstand is a 4.6 across 5,585 reviews, the largest sample of any nightlife room in Dubai, in the $$$ band, open Friday 8 PM to 4 AM and Saturday from 1 PM, closed Sunday and Monday. Soho Garden DXB at the racecourse next door is a 4.2 across 3,543, 10 PM to 4 AM, closed Monday and Tuesday. Between them the two Meydan rooms carry 9,128 reviews, 41% of every review left on a standalone room in the city, and they sit at a horse track.

The rest of the list: One Music Lounge in Umm Hurair, a 4.6 across 266 in the $$ band that posts "Open 24 hours" every day; Secret Room in Downtown, a 4.4 across 240, 11 PM to 4 AM, closed Monday; Boracay Night Club on Salah Al Din Street in Deira, a 4.3 across 273, 8 PM to 3 AM nightly; Omni at 4.1; and the two small-sample 5.0s, Maya on Al Maktoum Road (7 PM to 5 AM, the latest posted close in Dubai, on 11 reviews) and Nightclub Dubai.

Standalone clubs post the same kind of hours the hotel clubs do, seven of ten to 4 AM or later on a Friday against nine of fourteen, and they take the same nights off, three of ten dark on a Monday against four of fourteen. The difference is not the clock. It is the rating, and in two cases the crowd.

Bars barely notice the lobby

The hotel effect is a club effect. Dubai's 20 hotel bars and lounges average 4.61, its 15 standalone bars 4.70, a gap of under a tenth, and each side holds eight rooms at 4.8 or better.

The hotel side has the big samples. OK11 Sports Lounge at the Concorde Inn near the Dubai Museum is a 4.9 across 1,388, noon to 3 AM daily. Boom Battle Bar at the DoubleTree on The Walk, JBR, is a 4.9 across 1,371, closed Monday and Tuesday. IZEL at the JW Marriott Marquis in Business Bay is a 4.9 across 1,355, 8 PM to 3 AM. La Librairie on the third floor of the Address Boulevard is a 4.9 across 1,075 and runs noon to 4 AM, the latest bar close in a hotel. Budweiser Bar in Concourse B of Terminal 3 is a 4.8 across 1,263, open 24 hours, in the AED 50–100 band, and you need a boarding pass. Moon Bar by MiMi at the Address Residences in the Opera District and CnC DXB on the roof of the Carlton Dubai Creek are both flat 5.0s, on 107 and 69 reviews. The hotel side also has the only $$$$ room in the city, Skyview Bar on the 27th floor of the Burj Al Arab, a 4.5 across 1,077 that closes at 11:30 PM every night, and the three $$$ bars, Bahri at Mina Al Salam (4.6 across 543), Jetty Lounge at the One&Only Royal Mirage (4.5 across 1,549, to 1 AM) and Treehouse at the Taj in Business Bay (4.4 across 1,682).

The standalone side has DIFC. Tap Line on Level P3 of Central Park Towers is a 5.0 across 229, open 11:30 AM to 2 AM every day. The Ledge Rooftop in the same towers is a 5.0 across 226 and keeps the hours of a room that does not need you, 6 PM to midnight, closed Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Moonshine in Gate District 4 is a 4.7 across 275 and runs to 4 AM on Friday and Saturday. Jass Lounge at Gate 2 (4.6 across 577) and Alma Music & Art Lounge in Gate Village 05 (4.5 across 281) round out the five, which together average 4.76 and post no price band between them. Outside DIFC, Rose Bar on Bluewaters Island is a 5.0 across 164, GABA on the Marina Promenade a 4.9 across 568 (5 PM to 3 AM on the weekend), Cheers Pub in Al Jadaf a 4.9 across 359, and Mr. Toad's Pub & Kitchen in Dubai Investment Park a 4.8 across 2,250, the most-reviewed bar in the city outside a hotel.

The bar floor on both sides sits at 4.1: Lock, Stock & Barrel on the 8th floor of the Grand Millennium, a 4.1 across 3,106 and the most-reviewed bar in Dubai, El Barrio at the Hyatt Place on Al Rigga Road (4.1 across 297), and the standalone The Clavichord in Thanayah (4.1 across 234, AED 50–100).

In Dubai the hotel name on the door is a licensing fact, not a quality signal. For a bar it changes almost nothing. For a club it adds a price band and takes a third of a point off the rating. Pay for the room, not the lobby.

What a night actually costs, band by band

Google's price bands are posted by the venue, so 32 of the 59 rooms post none, but the 27 that do fall into a ladder that is worth reading before the taxi.

Posted bandRoomsAvg ratingWho is in it

$$$$14.50Skyview Bar, Burj Al Arab
AED 500+84.35ALTO 54 4.9 and Nightclub Dubai 5.0; the six clubs average 4.15

Two things fall out of the ladder. The rooms that post no price at all are the best-rated group in the city, and 20 of the 32 are bars. And the two mid bands, $$ and $$$, rate under 4.35, below both the cheapest posted band and the top one. The AED 500+ average of 4.35 is carried by a lounge bar and a 15-review disco club; the clubs that actually charge it average 4.15, which is the same number as the $$$ clubs once Chameleon is counted. Spending more in a Dubai club does not buy a better room. Spending nothing posted usually does.

For the budget question that search keeps asking: the cheapest posted band is AED 50–100, and two of its four rooms rate 4.8 or better. Oak Live Bar at the Courtyard by Marriott in Al Barsha (4.4 across 207) opens at 1:30 PM. Goose Island Tap House in Al Barsha South ($$, 4.6 across 1,900) runs to 3 AM on the weekend. Crown & Lion, the English pub under the Ibis One Central ($$, 4.2 across 1,387), opens at 11:30 AM. The $$ band is where the pubs are.

The rules, the door and the clock

The licensing question comes before any of this. Alcohol in Dubai is served in licensed venues, and the hotel is the historic licence-holder, which is why 34 of the 59 rooms here carry one in their address. The standalone rooms cluster where free-zone and development licensing exists, DIFC above all, and at Meydan. Visitors drink in licensed venues at 21 and over with ID; the rest of the conduct rules the search engine wants answered are about the street, not the room, and a Google rating has nothing to say about them.

On dress, the database stores no dress-code field and this piece will not invent one. What it stores is the "Upscale" attribute: 16 of the 34 hotel rooms carry it against 8 of the 25 standalone rooms, and 12 hotel rooms post "Reservations required" against 7 standalone. Read that as the hotel side asking more of you at the door. Thirteen hotel rooms post rooftop seating against six standalone, and 27 of 34 hotel rooms post live music against 17 of 25. A hotel night in Dubai is, by the attributes, a table, a view and a band.

On the clock, posted Friday closes across the 58 rooms with hours:

  • 4 AM or later: 18 rooms. Nine are hotel clubs (The Mansion, Vision, REGAL, Vibz, Marq, XO, Lekki, BLU, Chameleon) plus La Librairie, the only hotel bar that runs to 4. The other eight are standalone: five clubs (Zeus, Club Iris, Soho Garden, Secret Room, Omni), Moonshine the bar, Club One at 4:30 AM and Maya at 5 AM.
  • 3 AM: 19 rooms, the biggest rung, split 13 hotel and 6 standalone. Opus, BLING and Eve Lounge on the club side; OK11, IZEL, Estrellas, Crown & Lion, Lock, Stock & Barrel, GABA, Goose Island and Monkey Bar on the bar side.
  • 2 AM: 12 rooms, six a side, almost all bars. Tap Line, Rose Bar, ALTO 54, Cheers, Jass Lounge and The Clavichord on the standalone side; Moon Bar, Boom Battle Bar, Bar Buci, Bahri, Bar 44 and Treehouse in the hotels.
  • Earlier: Jetty Lounge, DECK TOO and Mr. Toad's at 1 AM, The Ledge at midnight, Skyview at 11:30 PM.
  • Never: Budweiser Bar, One Music Lounge and Nightclub Dubai post "Open 24 hours".

Thirty-eight of the 59 rooms post identical hours seven nights a week. The eleven that take a night off mostly take Monday: Club Iris, Soho Garden, Secret Room, Moonshine and The Ledge on the standalone side, Boom Battle Bar, BLING, Marq, Lekki and Avenue on the hotel side. Alma is the odd one out and closes Sunday.

A rating is a verdict on every Friday that already happened. It does not know whether XO's floor is full at 1 AM on this particular Thursday or whether Zeus has a private booking. Where a room streams live on Tizy, tap it and hear the floor before you cross Sheikh Zayed Road for it. If it is dead, you will hear it.

Pick the building by what the night is for

  • A club with a real sample and a rating above 4.5: Zeus in JBR (4.9, to 4 AM nightly), Club One (4.8, to 4:30), Club Iris at Meydan (4.6 across 5,585) or The Mansion at FIVE JVC, the one hotel club that clears the bar.
  • A hotel club because the hotel is where you are sleeping: Vision at The H or Vibz at the Fairmont on Sheikh Zayed Road, both 4.4 or better with no posted band, over any of the five AED 500+ hotel rooms, which average 4.16.
  • A bar where the rating is the highest in the city: Tap Line or The Ledge in DIFC, both 5.0 on more than 220 reviews, no price band, no hotel.
  • A bar with a thousand reviews behind it: OK11 (4.9 across 1,388), Boom Battle Bar (4.9 across 1,371) or IZEL (4.9 across 1,355), all three inside a hotel and none of them posting a price.
  • A view and a bill to match: Skyview Bar at the Burj Al Arab, 4.5, $$$$, out by 11:30.
  • A Monday: Zeus, Club One, Opus, Vision, BLU, XO or One Music Lounge, while Club Iris, Soho Garden, Secret Room, BLING, Marq and Lekki are dark.

FAQ

Can tourists drink alcohol in Dubai?

Yes, in licensed venues, at 21 and over with ID. Licences have historically sat with hotels, which is why 34 of the 59 rated bars and clubs Tizy has revealed in Dubai name a hotel, resort or the airport in their Google address. The 25 standalone licensed rooms cluster in DIFC, at Meydan and along the Marina and JBR, and they average 4.66 against 4.46 for the hotel rooms. The lobby is a licensing fact, not a quality filter.

Is Dubai nightlife good?

By the ratings, better than most cities Tizy has measured, with one category pulling the average down. The 59 rated rooms average 4.54, with 21 at 4.8 or better and only two under 4.0. The 35 bars average 4.65 and the 24 night clubs 4.39, and inside the clubs the split is hotel 4.25 against standalone 4.59. If the plan is a bar, almost any building works. If the plan is a club, the hotel name on the door is the number to check.

How much does a night out in Dubai cost?

The venue-posted price bands run from AED 50–100 at the bottom to AED 500+ at the top, and 32 of the 59 rooms post none at all. The AED 50–100 band holds four bars that average 4.58, including Budweiser Bar at 4.8 and CnC DXB at 5.0. The AED 500+ band holds eight rooms, six of them clubs that average 4.15, with BLU at 4.0 and Avenue at 3.8. The best-rated group in the city is the one that posts no price, 20 bars at 4.76 and 12 clubs at 4.54.

What is the dress code for Dubai nightlife?

Tizy's database stores ratings, hours, price bands and Google attributes, not dress codes, so this guide will not invent one. The attributes that stand in for it point at the hotels: 16 of the 34 hotel rooms carry "Upscale" and 12 post "Reservations required", against 8 and 7 of the 25 standalone rooms. Expect the hotel clubs on Sheikh Zayed Road and in Business Bay to ask more at the door than a DIFC bar or a Meydan club. Call the room; the rating tells you whether it is worth the call.

Which area of Dubai has the best nightlife?

It depends on the building more than the district. The best-rated clubs with real samples are Zeus in JBR (4.9 across 467), Club One off Sheikh Zayed Road (4.8 across 421) and Club Iris at Meydan (4.6 across 5,585), none of them inside a hotel. The best-rated bars are the five standalone DIFC rooms, which average 4.76 with two flat 5.0s. The hotel strip of Business Bay, Downtown and the Trade Centre has the most doors and the most AED 500+ bands, and its clubs rate lowest in the city.

What time do clubs in Dubai close?

Most post 3 or 4 AM. Of the 24 rated clubs, 16 post a 4 AM or later Friday close, including Club One at 4:30 AM and Maya at 5 AM, and One Music Lounge and Nightclub Dubai post "Open 24 hours". Opus, BLING, Eve Lounge, Boracay and Muscovites post 3 AM. Eleven of the 59 rooms take at least one night off and it is usually Monday: Club Iris, Soho Garden, Secret Room, BLING, Marq and Lekki are all dark then, while Zeus, Club One, Opus, Vision, BLU and XO post the same hours seven nights a week.

Do you have to be in a hotel to go clubbing in Dubai?

No, and on the ratings you are better off not being. Ten of Dubai's 24 rated clubs sit outside any hotel by address and they average 4.59, against 4.25 for the 14 hotel clubs, with the two most-reviewed clubs in the city, Club Iris and Soho Garden, both at the Meydan racecourse. The hotel clubs hold five of the city's eight AED 500+ bands and both of its sub-4.0 ratings. The one hotel club that clears 4.8 is The Mansion at FIVE Jumeirah Village, a 4.8 across 1,243, open to 4 AM every night.
